Financial Controller - Amsterdam

Your role as Financial Controller

As Financial Controller, you will work in both the technical and operational sides of finance. From consolidations and IFRS standards to journal entries and payment runs - you’ll report to the Finance Lead and work closely with the CFO and external providers in the Netherlands, UK, and US. This is a unique chance to help build scalable finance processes while staying connected to the day-to-day business.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting activities

• Working with external accountants on local compliance, payroll, and tax filings (NL, UK, and US)

• Assisting in preparing consolidated financial statements and investor reporting

• Maintaining accounting records and reconciliations across multiple entities

• Preparing and reviewing payment runs, including payroll support

• Helping coordinate audits (statutory, group, and ISAE 3402)

• Project-based and scaling work:

  • Contributing to the rollout of new tooling (e.g. spend management, forecasting, accounting software migration)

  • Supporting the US entity setup and ongoing financial operations

  • Helping to define internal controls and best practices as the company prepares for further audits and funding rounds

  • Collaborating cross-functionally with HR, Legal, Product, Data Engineering and Security on financial controls and compliance (SOC2, ISAE 3402)

A typical workday

You will combine daily operational finance tasks with strategic projects, ensuring both accuracy in the numbers and scalability in the processes. Some days will be more hands-on (journal entries, reconciliations, payment runs), while others will focus on projects like tooling, audits, or reporting to investors.

Requirements – Your profile

• 3–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or audit 

• Solid knowledge of IFRS and consolidations (including leasing standards)

• Hands-on mindset: comfortable with both strategic and operational tasks

• Growth mindset, curious

• Fluent in English (Dutch not required)

• Detail-oriented, structured, and proactive
